Huron Creek Farms is a quaint little rural neighborhood nestled along Huron Creek just three miles northeast of the Village of
Dexter. The quiet little hamlet of forty plus homes is actually a grouping of three diverse developments comprising Huron Creek Farms No.2, Huron Creek Farms Estates and the newer Meadow Creek homesteads to the north. The generous spacious parcels defined by open woods and gently rolling hills compliment the diverse size, style and architecture of the homes. The curved paved streets; underground utilities and mature vegetation soften the intimate undulating landscape. Some Huron Creek homes are pictured below.

My wife and I have resided in Huron Creek Farms for almost twenty years now and have grown to love its tucked away country feel with all its nearby wildlife and amenities. We originally moved here to escape the hustle and bustle of Ann Arbor and to purchase more affordable land. We feel we have the best of all worlds. Located just twenty minutes or so out of Ann Arbor, we are close enough to enjoy the cultural entertainment of a larger city as well as attending the many sporting events at The
University of Michigan. All without getting lost in the crowds, overrun with congestion and giving up peaceful country living.
Of course the Village of Dexter has come a long way since we first moved here and now boasts new school facilities, street improvements, and beautiful
Dexter library, as well as its own
Farmers’ Market. Oh, and who can forget the local
Dexter Cider Mill, Dairy Queen, A & W Drive-In and Dexter Bakery. If music is your thing, one can often find a free concert at the new Dexter High School offered by the very talented village band and orchestra. If your board with all that just a ten minute hop, skip and a jump to the west is the charming little community of
Chelsea, itself boasting a great art fair, county fairgrounds and excellent medical facilities.
We are nature lovers and we really enjoy all the nearby outdoor activities offered by the surrounding areas of Huron Creek Farms. Immediately to the east is
Hudson Mills Metro Park including the Huron River and Hudson Mills Golf Course. So if we get tired of watching the birds, fawns, fox and mink in our own back yard we can go down the road a mile and get great hiking, biking, canoeing, and picnicking. We often spy
anglers wading along the banks of the Huron River while we relax along the river walk on our ritual evening strolls. The park has excellent tennis, soccer, softball and playground facilities for the kids. The latest rage is the Hudson Mills’ disc golf course winding through the woods of the park.
One of the lesser-known opportunities nearby is the university’s observatory on Peach Mountain just a country block to the north. The ‘big hill’ provides a wonderful spot for stargazers on a clear night, if not a great location to enjoy nature walks and cross-country skiing. This area is actually the southeastern tip of the Pinckney State Recreation Area including numerous lakes, streams, wetlands and woodlands. Great swimming, hunting, fishing, boating and mountain biking abounds, and all within five or ten minutes reach of Huron Creek Farms. Silver Lake, located just four miles to the northwest, is a favorite swimming hole during the long hot dog days of summer.
Huron Creek Farms is a wonderful peaceful place with great families and neighbors and we most hardily recommend living within the area, hope you can join us.
