May marks the beginning of the 26th annual Ann Arbor Wine Fest.  This year the charity event and gala will be held in the Ann Arbor Marriott at Eagle Crest on May 3rd.  If you're a food and wine connoisseur, this event is not to be missed.  Not to mention your charitable donation to the Ann Arbor Art Center which gets 15% of its fundraising from this event.  Last year's event raised $110,000 - this year's goal is $150,000. The Wine Fest begins May 2nd with "Stars at Your Table" - a multi course dinner and wine pairing prepared by a renowned chef in conjunction with an equally talented winemaker in an intimate setting.  Four dinners are available with a maximum of 20 guests each.  Chef/Winemaker pairs for each dinner include:
  • Craig Common (The Common Grill, Chelsea MI) and Fred Fisher (Fisher Vineyards, Santa Rosa CA)
  • Brandt Evans (Blue Canyon Kitchen and Tavern, Cleveland OH) and Laurence Feraud (Domaine du Pegau, France)
  • John Sarich (Chateau Ste. Michelle, Woodville WA) and Bob Bertheau (Chateau Ste. Michelle Vineyards)
  • Ted Cizma (Grand Traverse Resort Spa, Traverse City MI) and Lee Lutes (Black Star Farms Winery, Suttons Bay)
Seats for these dinners are filling quickly.  Tickets to the WineFest are $200 and can be purchased online, Stars Dinners tickets can also be purchased here.  The event will include a wine tasting, strolling gourmet dinner, cigar tent, specialty bars, two wine auctions and a food, travel and leisure auction.
