Ann Arbor Michigan Community: Dexter Cider Mill Featured on TV!
Monday, September 07, 2009
It feels like the area has been portrayed alot on TV lately, what with ourselves helping homebuyers on HGTV not too long ago.
Now, the great Dexter Cider Mill has been featured on The Food Network 's show - "Will Work For Food" earlier this year - with a repeat just recently.
Located at 3685 Central Street, the mill is is the oldest continuously operating Cider Mill in Michigan and is listed by "Hour Detroit" magazine as one of the 101 places to visit in the greater Metropolitan area. It even has its own page on the Visit Ann Arbor Website! (The Cider Mill is open from late August to Mid-November.)
Cider is still made the same way that it was 120 years ago by using equipment which is a century old, including a traditional oak rack press, creating delicious cider which is popular with locals and tourists alike! The mill uses locally grown and hand picked apples and blends 3-5 different varieties in every pressing, which makes each press unique.
Definately worth a visit to stock up on cider! The mill also sells various other foods and wares, as well as for other events!
It really shows why the region has become a top relocation destination!
