SALINE CRAFT SHOW

The Saline Craft Show, in its 22nd year, is rated as one of the Top Ten Craft Shows in Michigan. Over 249 craft persons will showcase their most recent and exceptional work, which includes decorative painting, stoneware, rugs, birdhouses, holiday decorations, ceramics, calligraphy and clothing. All of these products are designed, made and displayed by the individual crafters and available at affordable prices, and the artists will be present and available to customize and personalize their works.

JACKIE KASHIAN

Jackie Kashian has been a national touring comic for over 10 years. She has appeared on NBC, VH1, and A&E (Comedy on the Road - back in the 1700's). She has her own half hour comedy special “Comedy Central Presents Jackie Kashian” and you’ve seen her on Comedy Central’s “Stand Up Showdown.” She has also performed at prestigious comedy festivals around the country including: the HBO Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen, Bumbershoot Arts Festival and the Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal.

COMEDY JAMM

Wednesday night it’s comedy cavalcade as we present up to 12 of the area's aspiring comedians from the Detroit Metro area and beyond. You will see a variety of comedians from beginners trying their hand at comedy (sometimes they are the funniest), to established comics unveiling new material, to the occasional comedian auditioning to perform at the Comedy Showcase. Anything can happen as we present this uncensored cacophony of comedy.

THE YEAR OF THE CAR

The third Fall Education Program features Gary Familian from MotorCities National Heritage Area. He will speak about America's love of the automobile. Mr. Familian will explore automotive heritage throughout southeastern and central Michigan, beginning at the end of the 19th century. Light refreshments will be provided. JOE DEVITO

Smart, silly and likeable, Joe performs at venues across the USA and is a regular at New York's Gotham Comedy Club. In 2006, he was a featured performer on Comedy Central's "Live at Gotham" and performed at the prestigious Just for Laughs Comedy Festival in Montreal. He has also written for MTV, FUSE, Stuff Magazine and the Oscar-nominated film "Super Size Me." In 2007, Joe appeared on NBC's "Last Comic Standing 5," making it all the way to the semi-finals in LA.

HEYWOOD BANKS**SPECIAL ENGAGEMENT**

It's the annual Thanksgiving Weekend visit from the sometimes whimsical, sometimes wacky, and always hysterical, Heywood Banks. This guitar slingin', prop flingin', super nerd of a comedian brings his original songs and way out notions to the Comedy Showcase stage this week - and we can't wait. With countless TV appearances and a myriad of radio credits including a regular stint on "The Bob and Tom Show" and "Dr. Demento."

TOURS OF RENTSCHLER FARM

This 20th century farm museum features display of farm implements, a period garden, and 12-room farmhouse depicting family life in the 1930s. Two Special Exhibits in 2008 feature Ten Years at Rentschler Farm and A Pioneer Family History. Tours available each Saturday. After the end of September only the farmhouse will be open, but visitors are welcome to walk around the outbuildings and read the informative signage. The museum and the gift shop are also open by appointment.
